Candlestick Plant (Senna alata) - 3g

$6.00

Candlestick plant (also known as Candle Bush, Ringworm Tree, Empress Candle Bush or Candelabra Bush) is a fast growing, resilient shrub that makes for an excellent early pioneer species in a tropical/subtropical food forest. We use this plant extensively at the very beginning of food forest projects as it grows well in poor, sandy soils and it’s thick foliage provides much needed shade for young tree seedlings. It also handles pruning very well and resprouts vigorously. The beautiful yellow flowers attract a wide range of beneficial pollinators and adds ornamental value to a landscape.

Overall, another tried and true companion plant that provides lots of benefits to food forest/agroforestry systems.
